The figure was zero in 2002. This is a result of advocating for bringing more public transport, Puri stated, and that is why we have gone from 0 to 824 km, and another 1,039 km coming up. India is already one of the largest metro operators, Puri said adding that the country would soon be the second largest metro operator in the world.
