Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has approved a pod taxi service between Bandra and Kurla railway stations in Mumbai via Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC), covering a distance of 8.80 km. The system will have 38 stations along the route, with a capacity of six passengers per pod and a maximum speed of 40 km per hour. Pod taxis are electric, driverless vehicles that operate on a chargeable battery. They offer an environment-friendly means of transportation and the project aims to enhance connectivity and ease congestion, particularly in BKC. Contact: MMRDA Website: www.mmrda.maharashtra.gov.in
