Govt releases Rs 3.6 bn for Uttarakhand under Jal Jeevan Mission
The centre has released the second tranche of Rs 3.6 bn to expedite the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission in Uttarakhand. Around Rs 7.21 bn had been released in two tranches in 2020-21 in Uttrakhand. The central government had allocated Rs 14.43 bn fund for implementing the Jal Jeevan Mission in 2021-22. PM Narendra Modi has made it a priority to supply tap water to every rural household in India. The Jal Jeevan Mission was implemented in partnership with the states in 2019.
