ELGi Unveils Evolved AB Series Oil-Free Screw Compressors

ELGi Equipments has unveiled the latest evolution of its AB Series oil-free screw air compressors at Drinktec India 2026, held at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai from 28 to 30 October. The range uses water-injected compression technology to deliver ISO 8573 Class 0 oil-free compressed air.

ELGi said the updated compressors demonstrate 5–6% lower specific power consumption under its stated comparison conditions. Its assessment also indicates up to 13% lower lifecycle costs over 40,000 operating hours, based on acquisition, electricity and maintenance costs and the company’s comparison assumptions.

The AB Series uses a closed-loop water circuit in the compression chamber. Water is recirculated, with condensate used for automatic replenishment. ELGi says this avoids the need for a continuous open-loop water supply, an external reverse osmosis system and an external pump for the compressor’s water circuit.

The range includes an indigenously developed motor, a Neuron 4 controller and Air~Alert remote monitoring. A five-year warranty on key components is available subject to applicable terms and conditions. The compressors are offered in power ratings of 11–110 kW, with free air delivery of 29–560 cfm and operating pressures of 4.5–12 bar.

Designed for food, beverage, dairy and brewery applications, the AB Series also serves sectors including pharmaceuticals, electronics, automotive, metals and textiles. ELGi said the evolved range will be available across its global markets through its sales and service network.
