Ammann Group to Acquire Volvo CE's ABG Paver Business in Strategic Agreement

The Ammann Group and Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) have announced a strategic agreement in which Ammann will acquire Volvo CE’s global ABG Paver Business, including the ABG facility in Hameln, Germany. This transformative agreement is poised to strengthen the product portfolio and distribution network of the Ammann Group while allowing Volvo CE to focus on sustainable solutions and future technologies and services in alignment with its strategic direction.

The transaction, expected to be finalised in the first half of 2024, encompasses the transfer of Volvo CE's paving businesses in Linyi (China) and Bangalore (India), along with the ABG facility in Hameln (Germany).

Hans-Christian Schneider, CEO, Ammann Group, expressed enthusiasm about the strategic acquisition, stating, "This acquisition completes the depth of our product offerings and makes the solutions we offer customers more comprehensive. It positions Ammann with a suite of solutions, covering everything from asphalt plants to paving and compaction."

Ammann, a world-leading supplier of mixing plants, machines, and services to the construction industry, will utilise its industry knowledge and customer relationships to guide the development of the acquired pavers. The ABG facility in Hameln, Germany, is set to become the Center of Excellence for paving operations within Ammann.

The acquisition ensures that customers and dealers of both Ammann and Volvo CE will retain access to the full line of paving offerings, as well as aftermarket and other services. The strategic move aligns with both companies' commitment to providing comprehensive and innovative solutions to the construction industry.

The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and works council consultations, reflecting a meticulous approach to ensure a smooth transition. The agreement underscores the commitment of both companies to strategic collaboration and the continued evolution of their respective businesses in the global construction equipment market.
