Adani Energy Bags Rs 16.60 Bn Inter-state Power Project in Maharashtra

Adani Energy Solutions (AESL) has secured an inter-state transmission project worth Rs 16.60 billion in Maharashtra. The project entails the development of transmission infrastructure, including 3,000 Mega Volt-Amperes (MVA) of substation capacity. With this addition, AESL’s total transmission network has expanded to 26,696 circuit kilometres (ckm) and 93,236 MVA of transformation capacity. The company aims to commission the project by January 2028.

The project is being implemented through a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), WRNES Talegaon Power Transmission, and is expected to facilitate the evacuation of 1.5 GW of green energy from upcoming hydro pumped storage projects in the region. It is also expected to cater to the growing power demand of Mumbai and its surrounding areas. The SPV was officially transferred to AESL earlier today.

AESL won the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) project through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process, with REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd (RECPDCL) serving as the bid process coordinator.

With this development, AESL’s transmission order book has reached approximately Rs 616 billion.
