Cummins and Repos Energy Introduce DATUM, an Intelligent Fuel Management System, Transforming Fuel Operations

Cummins India a prominent power solutions technology provider, unveiled DATUM (Data Automated Teller Ultimate Machine), an Intelligent Fuel Management System, at CII EXCON 2023 in collaboration with Repos Energy. This strategic partnership aims to address the challenges faced by customers in fuel operations, including procurement complexities, pilferage, high dead-mileage, and unbalanced diesel inventory.

DATUM leverages sensors and digital technologies to provide real-time updates on fuel inventory and consumption across multiple installations. The system offers a certified smart fuel storage solution that enables remote monitoring of fuel levels, issues low-fuel alerts, and facilitates 24x7 doorstep delivery of diesel, enhancing operational efficiency while reducing the carbon footprint. The entire fuel management process, from ordering to payment and invoicing, is digitised, leading to reduced procurement costs, improved diesel inventory management, higher asset utilisation, and assurance of fuel quality and quantity.

Vivek Malapati, Vice President, Distribution Business, Cummins India Limited, emphasised the company's commitment to environmental sustainability. He stated that the collaboration with Repos Energy and the introduction of the DATUM range represents a significant step in addressing existing challenges in fuel operations. The DATUM system aims to provide convenience, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness to customers while contributing to environmental sustainability and emission reduction efforts.

Aditi Bhosale Walunj, Co-Founder, Repos Energy, highlighted that the partnership with Cummins is a transformative step in fuel distribution across industries. DATUM, as a tech-enabled solution, allows end consumers to access fuel delivery at their preferred locations with a simple click on their phones. The collaboration intends to improve fuel efficiency, reduce losses, and contribute to a carbon-neutral future.

The DATUM range includes different variants tailored for specific applications. Datum X is designed for stationary genset applications, while DATUM Y and DATUM Z, equipped with dispensers, cater to fleet owners of diesel equipment and on-highway vehicles. The innovative DATUM system aims to revolutionise fuel management, making it more efficient, convenient, and environmentally sustainable.
