Scania Unveils G500 Super Heavy Tipper at EXCON 2023

Scania Commercial Vehicles takes a bold step in revolutionizing the mining and transport sector with the introduction of the G500 8x4 Super Heavy Tipper. Unveiled at EXCON 2023 in Bengaluru, India, this truck not only sets new standards in power and efficiency but also emphasizes eco-friendly design and sustainability.

Engineered to meet the toughest global emission standards, the G500 Super features a low-emission, biodiesel/FAME-compatible engine delivering 500 horsepower. This epitome of fuel efficiency demonstrates Scania's commitment to addressing the industry's dual challenge of emission reduction and profitability. The Super engine achieves a notable 8 per cent fuel savings and proudly holds the prestigious Green Truck Award for 2022.

The G500 Super, powered by XT, promises super horsepower with the highest torque offering on the market. Equipped with a highly efficient New G33 Heavy-duty Gearbox, a robust 395L steel fuel tank with a fuel optimisation unit, a new chassis composition generation, and a 40 per cent stronger powertrain, this tipper is specifically developed for mining operations. It ensures higher safety margins on critical components, superior drive-ability, and outstanding technical hardiness to conquer the operational challenges of the next decade.

Johan P Schlyter, Managing Director of Scania Commercial Vehicles India, expressed his enthusiasm for the G500 Super, stating, "This launch signifies a new era in mining, combining cutting-edge technology, unmatched performance, and eco-friendly design. The G 500 Super is not just a vehicle; it’s a revolution, redefining standards and setting new benchmarks in the industry."

Highlighting Scania's commitment to innovation and sustainability, the G500 Super delivers industry-leading brake thermal efficiency levels of 50 per cent, representing a significant step towards a zero-carbon transport system. This mining tipper not only redefines efficiency but also contributes significantly to environmental goals.

As the transport sector in India anticipates the positive impact of this revolutionary product, Scania reaffirms its dedication to shaping the future of the mining and transport industry in India.
