CM Jagan Reddy unveils Rs 10.72 bn industrial revolution in AP

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is poised to introduce a series of groundbreaking initiatives in the state that will reshape the industrial landscape of Andhra Pradesh. These projects, centred around industries, commerce, and food processing, reflect a total investment of Rs 10.72 billion, underscoring the government's steadfast dedication to fostering economic growth and development, particularly in the MSME sector.

With an emphasis on the MSME sector, an investment of Rs 6.7 billion has been allocated under the purview of industries and commerce. This strategic allocation aims to diversify the industrial portfolio, covering areas such as pharma, nutraceuticals, industrial development, flattened factories complexes, and a common facility centre in the printing cluster.

The projects are expected to create substantial employment opportunities for 21,079 individuals. Specifically, four food processing units, with a combined investment of Rs 4.02 billion, are scheduled for groundbreaking and inauguration by the Chief Minister. These units include an edible oil refinery plant in SPSR Nellore, a sesame processing unit in Vizianagaram, a starch processing unit in Eluru district, and the establishment of units for manufacturing RTE/RTC products in Vizianagaram and Kurnool.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the Kakinada Printing Cluster, a project by the Sri Satyadev Printing Cluster Association. Orchestrated through 250 beneficiary MSMEs, this initiative aims to generate 1,000 direct employment opportunities and an additional 5,000 indirect employment opportunities.

In a strategic move to fortify the pharmaceutical infrastructure, Sigachi Industries is set to establish a greenfield pharmaceuticals (API) plant with a production capacity of 72,000 MT per year. Located in the Orvakal Mega Industrial Hub in Kurnool, this venture entails an investment of Rs 2.8 billion and is expected to employ 850 people. The plant spans 25 acres of land, marking a significant milestone in the state's industrial development.
