Embassy REIT Approves Acquisition of 8,048 Sq Ft Retail Space in Mumbai

Embassy Office Parks REIT, India’s first listed Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT), has received board approval to acquire 8,048 sq ft of leasable retail space at First International Financial Centre (FIFC) in Mumbai. The acquisition will consolidate the REIT’s ownership in one of its flagship assets.

The retail area is fully leased to established food and beverage (F&B) brands, providing continuity for the asset’s existing retail offering. The space is expected to support the wider occupier experience at FIFC by adding to the amenities available at the commercial development.

FIFC is located in Bandra Kurla Complex, one of India’s leading commercial business districts. The Grade A office destination combines premium workspaces, strong connectivity, a high-quality occupier base and an established amenity ecosystem, making it a key asset in Embassy REIT’s Mumbai portfolio.

Embassy REIT owns and operates more than 52 mn sq ft of office space across Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, the National Capital Region and Chennai. Its portfolio comprises 14 office ecosystems, including integrated office parks and city-centre office assets, and serves 285 global and domestic corporations.

Beyond office properties, the portfolio includes five operational business hotels, two hotels under development and a 100 MW solar park supplying renewable energy to tenants. The latest transaction adds retail space to the REIT’s existing asset mix and strengthens its presence at FIFC without changing the development’s established leasing profile. The board approval marks the next step towards completing the acquisition, although the announcement did not provide the transaction value or expected completion date.
