Living room With open-plan layouts becoming predominant in modern homes, multipurpose living rooms seem to be more practical. Living areas are often seamlessly planned with a dining or a lounge as a gathering zone for the family as well as guests. This trend demands statement sofas and furniture in rich colours juxtaposed with muted walls that give a sense of sophistication. Ambient lighting is still a popular choice in living rooms, where wall sconces and coves are preferred as lighting options. Modern chandeliers are becoming more sculptural as they tend to take center stage in living areas. Fluted details are widely prevalent in living areas, especially as wall panels or cabinets. Kitchen New design trends are pronounced, especially in kitchens, where tone on tone has supremely reigned over a decade. Bedroom As a dedicated zone for rest in our homes, the bedroom tends to be a place to unwind and relax after a stressful day. Hence, these private sanctuaries embrace earthy and calming colour palettes that lend a comforting quality. Cozy fabrics such as linen rule the bedroom design, yet giving way for a play of patterns such as plaid, stripes, or florals. The design trends in the bedroom are all about wallpapers that add personalization and visual interest to this private space. Also, wall-sweeping windows stretching from floor to ceiling are becoming more common in modern bedrooms. Lighting has an increased emphasis on bedrooms, from overhead lighting to pendant lighting over bedside tables. Bathrooms It is obvious that bathrooms have shifted from being strictly functional to spaces with masses of design potential. Spa-inspired bathrooms are growing in popularity and also double up as a private sanctuary. While neutral bathrooms are still a great way to create a haven, dark bathrooms are on the rise in residences. The recent trends in bathrooms focus more on beautiful stone, texture, decorative lighting, and customised hardware.
