Tell us about the company’s emphasis on safety and comfort.
The company is constantly working towards making and delivering interoperable solutions for customers. The company has been associated with various open protocols like KNX, Zigbee, Bluetooth, Bacnet, Modbus and DALI for their range of product categories. Under smart home automation, they have two types of product series: One which includes a range of smart doorbells, smart plugs, connected water heaters and switches under the ‘MirAIe’ and Vetaar platform, which will soon include smoke and gas sensors, motion sensors and IP camera for monitoring. The second is KNX – Thea IQ Home Automation Systems, which is assisting property owners to adhere to social distancing norms and ensure near zero use of common contact points.

Introduce us to the company's recent launches.
The company offers a range of superior quality and smart switches under its wiring devices portfolio. In line with this, they have introduced a new range of smart switches under the Europa and Ziva series that are designed to provide robust functionality combined with safety and convenience. The Europa Series switches come with innovative features such as toggle type mechanism, flame retardant, and are eco-friendly in nature.

We also have a range of new advanced automation products – Black Nova, multipurpose switch, smart lighting solutions, EV charging, energy management system, and modern range of modular kitchen solutions. The company remains committed towards building a world that make living spaces safer, energy-efficient and comfortable.

Give us an example of your recent and innovative project undertakings.
Panasonic Life Solutions India offers a complete range of products from electrical building materials, appliances, security devices to automation for a builder. For this, they have developed Vetaar - IoT range of products. In which the company has intelligent feather touch switches that will sync with the wiring device products, intelligent plugs, sensors and MirAie platform.

We have executed a one of its kind smart street lighting project in Kalyan Dombivali Municipal Corporation Mumbai. Panasonic First Fast EV Charger project has also been executed in Himachal Road Transport Corporation, with a lot many in the pipeline. We also finalised the Panasonic Thea order for high-end automation switches for DLF Camellias, Gurugram in FY 2019-20.

Tell us about your manufacturing facilities in India. Any expansion plans?
Currently, the company’s six manufacturing units at five locations in India are manufacturing electrical appliances products, synonymous with quality. The company offers a wide spectrum of electrical solutions in consumer products ranging from wires and cables, lighting, solar power, wiring devices, switchgears, infrastructure and indoor air quality.

How do you view the company's growth in the near future?
The Indian electrical construction market is currently witnessing a strong growth. Smart innovative technology is replacing conventional technology with more energy-efficient products for energy conservation. With India being the second most populated country in the world and one of the largest consumers of electricity, it has been witnessing an increasing electricity demand supply gap. The government is also playing an active role in replacing the current lighting sector with more energy-efficient products and solutions. This is expected to exponentially drive the market for smart lighting in India.
