Powerplay Records 4X Growth in Platform Spend with AI Adoption

Construction technology platform Powerplay has reported up to fourfold growth in platform spending among customers adopting its artificial intelligence (AI) agents over approximately 18 months. The growth reflects increased adoption of AI-driven procurement and financing solutions among contractors and builders across India.

The Bengaluru-based company has introduced an AI workforce designed to automate procurement coordination, supplier comparisons, material tracking and financing documentation. Its AI Purchase Executive enables contractors to compare supplier prices, monitor material requirements and verify purchase orders against project budgets.

The platform's AI Credit Analyst helps contractors organise project information and financial documents required for credit applications through banking and non-banking financial company (NBFC) partners. Credit approvals remain with the respective lending institutions.

By integrating procurement and financing workflows, Powerplay aims to help construction businesses improve purchasing decisions, manage working capital and streamline project operations.

Iesh Dixit, Co-founder and CEO, Powerplay, said, "For a contractor, procurement and finance cannot work in isolation. The team needs to know what a project requires, what materials will cost and whether the funds will be available when payments are due. We are building an AI Workforce that can take on much of the coordination involved in these decisions, using the project data already available on Powerplay. By bringing procurement and financing together, we want to help contractors and builders across India in managing their day-to-day operations more efficiently."

Powerplay's annualised marketplace transaction volume has increased from approximately Rs 360 million to Rs 1 billion over the past year. During the same period, financing volumes facilitated through its lending partners have grown more than eightfold from a relatively small base, with operations currently spanning four cities.

The growth comes amid increased infrastructure investment in India. The Union Budget for FY2026–27 allocated Rs 12.22 trillion towards infrastructure capital investment, highlighting the need for efficient project execution, procurement management and access to working capital.

Powerplay currently has more than 40,000 construction firms and 85,000 projects represented on its platform. The company is expanding beyond project tracking and management to incorporate AI-driven purchasing, financial coordination and operational support.

Founded by Iesh Dixit and Shubham Goyal, Powerplay is backed by Accel, Peak XV Surge and India Quotient. The company aims to strengthen its AI-powered construction management ecosystem by integrating procurement, project planning and financing into a unified digital platform.
