ABB Names Cloudworx Winner of Startup Challenge India 2025

ABB India, in collaboration with Microsoft and SynerLeap, has announced Cloudworx as the winner of the ABB Startup Challenge India 2025, recognizing its groundbreaking work in transforming how industries adopt ABB drives through AI-driven innovation.

The Bengaluru-based startup impressed the jury with its AI-powered 3D visualization platform, which creates dynamic, real-time digital replicas of business processes for monitoring, simulation, and optimization. The solution aims to simplify motor and drive selection, commissioning, and maintenance using intelligent, data-driven insights.

As part of the win, Cloudworx will receive a $30,000 project award, mentorship from Microsoft and SynerLeap startup advisors, and a six-month membership to ABB’s global startup accelerator. ABB experts will also work directly with Cloudworx to develop a market-ready solution that may be launched globally for ABB’s customers and partners.

Held under the theme “Advancing Smart Drive Technology with AI Innovation,” the 2025 edition invited startups to explore how artificial intelligence can analyze drive data and application needs to help OEMs identify the ideal ABB motor-drive match. The challenge received over 100 applications, with seven finalists pitching their solutions in Bengaluru.

“Startups play a key role in shaping the future of industrial technology,” said A. R. Madhusudan, President and Local Division Manager, Drive Products, ABB India. “With India’s evolving industrial landscape and increasing focus on energy efficiency, enabling intelligent drive adoption is more important than ever. The quality and depth of ideas this year reaffirm the strength of India’s startup ecosystem.”

Now in its sixth edition, and hosted in India for the first time, the ABB Startup Challenge has been previously held across Europe and the U.S. The initiative marks a key milestone as ABB celebrates 50 years of global leadership in low-voltage drives and 20 years of production excellence in India, reinforcing its commitment to open innovation and sustainable technology development.
