Alfanar Group Infuses Rs 9.5 bn Additional Capital In Senvion

Alfanar Group has injected USD 100 million (mn), equivalent to Rs 9.5 billion (bn), as additional direct capital into Senvion, with a first tranche of USD 34 million (mn), equivalent to Rs 3.2 billion (bn), received in August 2026. The investment was described by the company as growth capital to support Senvion's expansion in India and international markets and to accelerate the development of its project pipeline through the Senvion Certified Sites offering. The funding is intended to underpin a technology-led and manufacturing-driven phase of development and support priorities including the long-term product roadmap.

The move builds on alfanar Group's acquisition of Senvion India, completed in July 2021 through Global Renewable Energy Development Holding Company, the promoter vehicle that led the deal. Senvion India, active in the country since 2016, provides full engineering, procurement and construction and operations and maintenance solutions for wind projects and will continue to operate as an original equipment manufacturer. The company said the acquisition strengthened alfanar's competitive position in India while enabling Senvion India to scale local manufacturing and services.

The firm noted that Senvion India's 3.1M130 turbine, included in the Revised List of Models and Manufacturers in April 2025, is based on a 2XM architecture and features a 130 metre rotor and advanced control systems designed for pad-constrained sites. The model was developed, proto-tested and certified in India and has more than 80 per cent of components manufactured locally. The funding is expected to deepen research and development, accelerate new technology introduction and improve turbine performance.

Alfanar leadership indicated that India is central to the group's renewable strategy and that combining Senvion's wind engineering expertise with alfanar's capabilities in power systems and grid infrastructure will support integrated solutions. Management said the capital will also be used to invest in talent and to enhance the company's ability to support customers across a 25-year lifecycle. The company expects to complete the remaining portion of the direct capital funding within a matter of weeks.
