Caliber Mining Raises Rs 1,350 mn From Seven Anchor Investors

Caliber Mining and Logistics has raised Rs 1,350 million (mn) from seven anchor investors ahead of a Rs 4,500 mn initial public offering. The IPO is a mix of a Rs 4,000 mn fresh issue and a Rs 500 mn offer for sale, with a price band of Rs 402 to Rs 424 per share and an issue window from July 17 to July 21. The company allotted three point one eight three mn shares to anchors at the upper band, allocating one point five three three mn shares to two domestic mutual funds across five schemes. Quant Mutual Fund bought one point one seven nine mn shares worth Rs 500 mn, Ashoka India Equity Investment Trust acquired zero point five eight nine mn shares for Rs 250 mn, and Prashant Jain backed 3P India Equity Fund together with Helios Small Cap Fund took zero point three five three mn shares each for Rs 150 mn apiece. Carnelian Fund purchased zero point two three five mn shares for Rs 100 mn.

Existing investors Sunil Singhania and Anchorage Capital Fund subscribed an extra Rs 100 mn each through the anchor book; they held three point one nine per cent and two point one six per cent stakes respectively before the issue. The company raised Rs 1,000 mn in a pre IPO placement by issuing two point three five eight mn shares, which reduced the planned fresh issue from Rs 5,000 mn to Rs 4,000 mn.

Proceeds will be used to reduce debt and expand capacity, with Rs 2,080 mn for borrowings, Rs 1,670 mn for commercial vehicles, plant and machinery, and the remainder for general corporate purposes. Caliber provides integrated mining services and operates a fleet of 1,911 vehicles across Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, largely serving subsidiaries of Coal India. Its order book stood at Rs 95,509 mn as of May 15, 2026, up from Rs 56,683 mn at the end of March 2026.
