CNH Expands SES Programme to South India

CNH, a global agriculture and construction equipment company, has recently expanded its CSR initiative, Sustainable Environment Solution, across key agricultural regions in South India. The programme has been introduced in Sindhanoor and Hubli in Karnataka, Gudur Manal in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, and Lalgudi in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu.

The initiative focuses on agricultural extension and farmer capacity building to address crop residue management challenges. It aims to reduce air pollution caused by open-field burning while encouraging farmers to adopt efficient and sustainable alternatives through mechanised baling solutions.

The programme builds on CNH’s ongoing efforts across Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Bihar, Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra and Uttarakhand, where it has been implemented to promote sustainable residue management and reduce stubble burning.

Narinder Mittal, President and Managing Director, CNH India, said the Sustainable Environment Solution programme reflects the company’s commitment to responsible growth and sustainable agriculture. He added that efficient crop residue management can help lower air pollution, improve resource utilisation and create a sustainable model in partnership with the farming community.

The programme was successfully implemented in northern India, enabling large-scale adoption of baling practices. It also helped farmers generate additional income by selling crop residue to industries and power plants.
