Cranex Receives Rs 160.3 mn Orders From BHEL And NHPC

Cranex Limited (the Company) has received Letters of Award from Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited and NHPC Limited for orders aggregating to Rs 160.3 million (mn), the company said in a filing. The awards were issued for supply and refurbishment of Electric Overhead Travelling crane (EOT crane) equipment for power sector projects. The BSE listed firm noted that the LOAs reflect continued trust from major public sector customers.

One contract from Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited relates to D/G EOT cranes above 100 t for the Sunni Dam hydro electric project, with an order value of Rs 108.7 mn. The other LOA from NHPC Limited covers upgradation and refurbishment of two 190 t, 30 t and 10 t Electric Overhead Travelling cranes at the Chamera Power Station Stage?I, valued at Rs 51.6 mn. The procurement scope includes supply and execution in line with terms specified in the respective LOAs. The Company will initiate execution according to the contractual schedule.

Management indicated that receipt of the LOAs reinforces Cranex's capability to deliver customised lifting solutions and to sustain long term relationships with public sector customers, and that repeat business validated quality and execution strength. It added that the awards would strengthen the order book and were expected to contribute positively to business growth. The Company said it would focus on timely execution and on expanding operational capabilities to support sustainable growth. The statement underscored commitment to creating long term value for stakeholders.

Established in 1973, Cranex Limited manufactures EOT cranes, gantry cranes and material handling equipment and has over 53 years of industry experience. The Company stated that it is among a few Indian crane manufacturers able to produce lifting equipment with capacities up to 200 t and has approvals from several major public and private organisations. These vendor approvals enable participation in mission critical projects across power, infrastructure, defence and aerospace sectors and provide recurring procurement opportunities. The firm said the new orders align with its strategic focus on the power and heavy engineering sectors.
