DDA Issues 83 Conveyance Deeds in PM-UDAY Camps

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) issued 83 conveyance deeds and authorisation slips to residents of unauthorised colonies on the first day of its single-window camp under the PM-UDAY scheme. On Sunday, Delhi's Lieutenant Governor, VK Saxena, visited the camp site at Shyam Vihar, Najafgarh, where he interacted with the beneficiaries. He enquired if they were satisfied with the various services offered at the camp, according to a statement released on Sunday.

Thousands of people had visited the camp on Saturday, the first day of the Pradhan Mantri-Unauthorised Colonies in Delhi Awas Adhikar Yojana (PM-UDAY) scheme, organised by the DDA to address issues related to the scheme. The statement mentioned that on Day 1, 414 new applications or registrations were processed, and 411 pending applications were cleared of deficiencies. In total, 113 applications were approved, and 83 conveyance deeds and authorisation slips were executed in various unauthorised colonies.

Saxena also distributed certificates of ownership to 40 beneficiaries and instructed the DDA to expedite the clearance of the remaining 62,000 pending applications and process new applications swiftly, the statement added.

Following the LG's directions, the DDA launched the camp for residents of unauthorised colonies in Delhi. The camps are scheduled to be held every Saturday and Sunday from November 30 to December 29, at 10 processing centres within these unauthorised colonies. The LG urged people to attend in large numbers to resolve their pending issues, as the government was bringing services directly to their doorsteps.

Saxena further stated that the PM-UDAY scheme was launched in Delhi in accordance with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision to grant ownership rights to residents of unauthorised colonies. He added that the camps would significantly aid in processing the applications that had been pending for several years.

The services provided at the camps include issues related to conveyance deeds and authorisation slips, GIS surveys, and new registrations, among others. The camps are located in areas such as Burari, Najafgarh, Aya Nagar Extension, Karawal Nagar, Budh Vihar Colony, Nangloi, Khirki Extension, Malviya Nagar, and New Ashok Nagar.

The PM-UDAY scheme aims to grant ownership rights to the residents of 1,731 unauthorised colonies in Delhi, with the primary objective being to provide legal recognition to their properties by conferring ownership rights.
