DRDO sanctions new projects to the private sector

According to reports from the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO), seven new projects have been awarded to industries under the Technology Development Fund scheme. These projects cater to various needs of the Armed Forces and aerospace & defence sectors, thereby supporting the goal of Aatmanirbharta. DRDO's initiative aims to foster growth among industries, particularly MSMEs & start-ups, in defence and aerospace domains. The indigenous development of these technologies is expected to enhance the military industrial ecosystem.

Details of the sanctioned projects include:

- An Indigenous Scenario and Sensor Simulation Toolkit designed for simulator training of pilots in realistic scenarios, awarded to Oxygen 2 Innovation Pvt Ltd, Noida.
- An Underwater Launched Unmanned Aerial Vehicle for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) and Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA), sanctioned to Sagar Defence Engineering Pvt Ltd, Pune.
- Long-range Remotely Operated Vehicles for Detection & Neutralisation, aimed at underwater object detection and neutralisation, awarded to IROV Technologies Pvt Limited, Kochi.
- Development of an Ice Detection Sensor for Aircraft to detect inflight icing conditions, awarded to Craftlogic Labs Pvt Ltd, Bengaluru.
- Development of a Radar Signal Processor with Active Antenna Array Simulator, enabling deployment of multiple target systems for aerial weapon system testing, sanctioned to Data Pattern (India) Limited, Chennai.
- Development of an Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System-based Timing Acquisition & Dissemination System, aimed at indigenising timing acquisition and dissemination using the Indian Constellation, awarded to Accord Software & Systems Pvt Ltd, Bengaluru.
- Development of Graphene Based Smart & E-textiles for Multifunctional Wearable Applications, focusing on conductive yarn and fabric-making processes using graphene nanomaterials, awarded to Alohatech Private Limited, Coimbatore.

These projects are poised to significantly contribute to the advancement of indigenous capabilities in defence and aerospace sectors, reflecting DRDO's commitment to nurturing technological innovation within the country.
