Firstsource Acquires TeleMedik to Expand US Healthcare Capabilities

Firstsource Solutions Limited has acquired TeleMedik to strengthen its digital healthcare offerings and expand its presence across US payer and provider markets. The acquisition enhances Firstsource’s end-to-end clinical and utilisation management capabilities and deepens its footprint across payer-provider networks.

TeleMedik brings advanced clinical platforms and complementary technologies that support health plans seeking more personalised and outcome-focused care. The acquisition also strengthens Firstsource’s integrated and differentiated business process as a service offering for healthcare clients, combining technology-led automation with clinical and administrative expertise.

The transaction comes at a time when healthcare payers are facing rising utilisation rates, increasing financial pressures and growing demand for personalised, coordinated care. Health plans are increasingly looking for digital solutions that improve care coordination, member engagement and data integration while maintaining operational efficiency.

By integrating digital and generative artificial intelligence-driven clinical operations with TeleMedik’s unified service model, Firstsource aims to deliver comprehensive healthcare lifecycle management. This spans intake and authorisation through care coordination, clinical intervention and ongoing member engagement, supported by automation and analytics.

TeleMedik’s operational footprint in Puerto Rico and across the US adds scale to Firstsource’s healthcare platform, enabling support for a broader payer base. The combined capabilities are expected to improve quality, reduce administrative costs and enhance experiences for members and providers.

Dr Sanjiv Goenka, chairman of RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group and Firstsource, said the acquisition reinforces the company’s commitment to innovation and disruption in healthcare through technology-led transformation. He added that TeleMedik’s capabilities align with Firstsource’s strategy of delivering differentiated offerings to healthcare clients.

Dr Joaquín Fernández-Quintero, president and chief executive of TeleMedik, said the partnership would allow the company to scale its digital-first solutions and leverage Firstsource’s global reach and advanced technology platforms to better serve health plans and the wider healthcare ecosystem.

Following the acquisition, Firstsource expects to strengthen its offerings for health plans by deepening access to the US payer-provider ecosystem, supporting the rapid growth of Medicaid, Medicare Advantage and dual-eligible populations, including Spanish-speaking and underserved communities. The integration is also expected to reduce operational risk, improve continuity and deliver enhanced capabilities in utilisation management, care management and disease management.

Overall, the acquisition positions Firstsource to deliver faster decision-making, greater clinical consistency and improved member outcomes, while reducing administrative burden for healthcare clients.
