Gautam Adani Inspects Godda 2,300 MW Plant

Industrialist Gautam Adani visited Godda and conducted his first inspection of the 2,300 megawatt (MW) power plant in the district, which comprises five units. The visit included a review of the functioning of all units and meetings with senior plant officials to assess operational readiness. Officials reported that the plant has moved into a phase of accelerated activity since the inspection.

Officials said the electricity generated at the plant was being supplied to Bangladesh and that the possibility of supplying power to other countries was under consideration. They added that the project had been taken up following a request by local member of Parliament Nishikant Dubey, who provided full cooperation during establishment. On Dubey's request, plans to set up a cement plant in Godda were described as likely to materialise in the near term.

Adani noted that commissioning of the plant had already contributed significantly to local development and that the proposed cement facility was expected to further boost growth. The proposed industrial expansion was projected to create large-scale employment opportunities and to act as a milestone in district economy. Plant executives outlined steps being taken to enhance operational momentum and to align output with regional demand and export commitments.

During meetings with plant officials Adani reviewed technical operations and emphasised the importance of sustained maintenance and safety protocols to ensure uninterrupted supply. Company representatives indicated ongoing assessments to optimise unit efficiency and to expedite full commercial operation across all units. Observers said the development of energy infrastructure in Godda could encourage ancillary investments and strengthen regional industrial linkages. Local stakeholders anticipated that the combined effect of the power plant and the proposed cement project would raise the district profile and support inclusive economic gains.
