Gujarat Clears Rs 41.8 Billion for Urban Projects in 2025

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has approved Rs 41.8 billion for development projects across seven municipal corporations and 12 municipalities under the Urban Development Year–2025 initiative. These projects fall under the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana.
Of the total allocation, Rs 37.7 billion is dedicated to infrastructure development. This includes Rs 29.4 billion for 252 works in Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, Rs 4.55 billion for 349 works in Vadodara, Rs 3.67 billion for 302 works in Rajkot, and Rs 62 million for 11 works in the newly formed Porbandar Municipal Corporation.
Projects totalling Rs 2.19 billion have been sanctioned for urban roadworks, including Iconic Roads and Gaurav Paths. This includes Rs 1.36 billion for Rajkot, Rs 150 million for Morbi, Rs 130 million for Nadiad, Rs 177.6 million for Una, Rs 192.8 million for Halvad, and Rs 50 million for Khambhaliya.
For water supply and stormwater drainage projects, Rs 930 million has been approved, with Rs 616.4 million for Morbi, Rs 192.8 million for Savarkundla, and Rs 113.1 million for Dhanera.
A further Rs 820 million has been allocated for outgrowth area development—Rs 800 million to Rajkot and Rs 20 million to Patan.
In addition, Rs 140 million has been approved for Veraval-Patan and Amod municipalities. Under the Khaangi Society Janbhagidari Yojana, Rs 27.2 million has been sanctioned for Visnagar, Borsad, and Viramgam.
These funds will support both new and ongoing civic infrastructure works in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot, Gandhinagar, Morbi, Porbandar, Nadiad, and several smaller municipalities including Visnagar, Borsad, Viramgam, Patan, Amod, Una, Halvad, Khambhaliya, Savarkundla, Dhanera, and Veraval.
Launched in 2005, the Urban Development Year initiative marks its 20th year in 2025, aiming to accelerate modernisation across Gujarat's urban centres.
