India's industrial output grows 4.2 % in June

India's industrial production saw a 4.2% increase in June this year, driven primarily by strong performances in the mining and power sectors, according to official data released on Monday. The Index of Industrial Production (IIP) reflected a 4% growth in June 2023.

An official statement reported that the IIP rose by 4.2% in June 2024. Data from the National Statistical Office (NSO) indicated that manufacturing sector output grew by 2.6% in June 2024, compared to 3.5% in the same month the previous year.

Mining production increased by 10.3%, and power output by 8.6% in June this year. The IIP for the April-June quarter of this fiscal year grew by 5.2%, up from 4.7% in the corresponding period last year.
