Japanese Firms Explore Investment at Dholera SIR

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced on Thursday that a delegation of leading Japanese companies visited the Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR) to explore potential business opportunities. The region is being developed under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC).

The delegation, accompanied by officials from Dholera Industrial City Development Ltd and the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation, conducted a site tour of Dholera’s planned infrastructure and facilities.

As part of the visit, the group was briefed on the Tata Electronics semiconductor fabrication facility, currently under development in collaboration with Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation (PSMC) of Taiwan.

This project is a core element of the Semicon India Programme and is included in over Rs 1.54 trillion worth of semiconductor-related investments presently underway in Gujarat.
