Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation commissioner T Vinay Krishna Reddy carried out a detailed inspection of sanitation and waste management along Fatehnagar and Sivalayam Road. The inspection covered garbage vulnerable point clearance, road margins, traffic movement and construction and demolition waste management. The commissioner examined field conditions and directed officials to step up monitoring. The exercise aimed to assess the effectiveness of existing arrangements and to identify persistent problem spots requiring targeted action by municipal teams. Officials were instructed to ensure 100 per cent daily door-to-door garbage collection and regular lifting from all collection points. They were told to remove road obstructions and encroachments promptly and to clear construction and demolition waste without delay. Accumulated sand along road margins was ordered to be removed and reused where feasible. Collection crews were to follow designated routes and maintain adherence to time schedules so that accumulation did not recur at vulnerable points. Continuous field monitoring was emphasised to prevent recurring dumping and obstructions, with teams assigned for routine checks. The commissioner asked municipal staff to coordinate with traffic authorities to maintain smooth movement and to clear any blockages affecting commuters. Residents were to be kept informed about collection schedules to reduce roadside accumulation. Field teams were to document sites of concern, log clearance actions and report any repeated violations for administrative follow up. Follow up inspections were announced to assess progress and ensure compliance with the directives. The emphasis on reuse of removed materials aims to reduce waste and support sustainable practices within the municipal area. Officials were expected to report back on implementation within a stipulated timeframe. The commissioner indicated that periodic reviews would measure outcomes and guide any further administrative measures to sustain cleanliness standards across the ward.
