NTPC Mining Floats Rs 20 Million EMD Tender For Chatti Bariatu

NTPC Mining Limited (NML), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Ltd, has issued a notice inviting tender for the Coal Handling Plant package at the Chatti Bariatu Coal Mining Project. The tender will be conducted through domestic competitive bidding on the government e-procurement portal and follows a single-stage, two-envelope bidding process. Bidders are required to submit online proposals using a Class-three Digital Signature Certificate and no hard copies of documents will be issued.

The project scope covers design, engineering, supply, erection and commissioning of the complete Coal Handling Plant, including mechanical, electrical, civil, structural and control systems. The tender requires a bid security of Rs 20 million (Rs 20 mn) and bids not accompanied by valid security will be treated as non-responsive. Only Class-one local suppliers are eligible to participate under the Government of India public procurement Make in India policy.

Technical eligibility requires recent experience in designing, manufacturing, erecting and commissioning bulk material handling plants, including pipe conveyor systems of 800 TPH capacity or troughed conveyor systems of 1,000 TPH capacity, with the plant in successful operation for at least one year prior to bid opening. Financial eligibility requires an average annual turnover of at least Rs 1.1416 billion (Rs 1.1416 bn) over the last three financial years and net worth not less than 100 per cent of paid-up share capital. NTPC reserves the right to reject or cancel the tender at any stage without assigning reasons.

The Coal Handling Plant will strengthen coal logistics, improve automation and enhance operational efficiency for the Chatti Bariatu Coal Mining Project, supporting fuel supply security for power generation. The initiative aligns with NTPC's broader strategy to expand coal mining capacity and secure the power generation value chain. Interested parties are advised to consult the NTPC e-procurement portal for full tender documents and submission timelines.
