Patel Engineering Wins Rs 7.98 Bn SECL Contracts for Excavation Works

Patel Engineering has received two Letters of Intent from Saidax Engineers and Infrastructures for excavation and related works at the Jhiria West Opencast Project in the Hasdeo Area of Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, operated by South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL). The combined project value stands at Rs 7.98 billion, excluding taxes. The scope of work covers composite overburden removal, rehandling, coal cutting using surface miners, loading and transportation of coal, and the hiring and maintenance of all required equipment. It also includes the provision of diesel and deployment of skilled staff and labour necessary to execute the project. With extensive experience in large-scale infrastructure assignments, Patel Engineering is well placed to undertake the contract efficiently. Kavita Shirvaikar, Managing Director said the new projects are a natural extension of the company’s core capabilities and open new avenues for growth. She noted that these awards come alongside a robust tender pipeline of more than Rs 340 billion already bid and under evaluation, with an additional Rs 180 billion expected to enter bidding before the close of the financial year. She added that nearly Rs 1 trillion worth of opportunities are anticipated over the next one to two years in the company’s key sectors, supporting a substantial expansion of the order book.
