PM Modi Dedicates Rs 94 Billion Projects To Transform Telangana

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone, inaugurated and dedicated multiple development projects worth around Rs 94 billion (bn) in Hyderabad, Telangana. He described Hyderabad as a transformational centre of national and global importance and said these initiatives would boost manufacturing in Telangana. He said the projects would create thousands of new jobs and strengthen regional connectivity.

He identified the Zaheerabad Industrial Area as a cornerstone of the national mission to develop industrial corridors and characterised the emerging complex as an Industrial Smart City. He said it would be equipped with world-class infrastructure, reliable power supply and advanced information and communications technology networks to attract global investment. Substantial Union Government funding would finance the complex and create employment pathways for young citizens.

He recalled the historical role of the textile industry in India's economy and affirmed the government's commitment to revitalise the sector. He said the PM MITRA Park in Warangal would catalyse a national textile revival and that participating units would receive support under Union Government schemes, including the production linked incentive scheme. Beneficiary enterprises had begun availing scheme support and the park would create significant employment opportunities for women.

He reviewed a sustained 12-year investment trajectory in modern connectivity and noted that nearly Rs 1.75 trillion (tn) had been allocated to National Highways development alone. He observed that Telangana had benefited from this focus, with the state highway network doubling over the period, and he said the Telangana–Karnataka widening project would reduce travel time and lower transport costs. He linked systematic infrastructure investment to tangible local benefits.

He contrasted the pre-2014 railway budget for undivided Andhra Pradesh, under Rs 10 bn, with present annual allocation of over Rs 55 bn. He said Rs 500 bn of railway projects were under implementation and that five Vande Bharat and six Amrit Bharat trains serve Telangana. He added that inaugurations of sections of the Kazipet–Vijayawada multi-tracking project, the dedication of the Kazipet rail under bypass line and the Indian Oil terminal at Malkapur would strengthen energy and transport supply chains.
