RailTel Secures Purchase Order From New India Assurance

RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. (RailTel) has received a purchase order from The New India Assurance Company Ltd. (New India Assurance) for the procurement of an artificial intelligence and machine learning based solution to monitor and investigate fraud, waste and abuse in health insurance claims. The order was awarded by a domestic entity and was disclosed under Regulation 30 read with Part A of Schedule III of SEBI listing obligations and the relevant master circular. The work order was received on seven May 2026 at 18:01 and carries a broad consideration of Rs 249.12 mn including tax, with completion scheduled by six May 2029.

The procurement relates to an AI/ML based monitoring and investigation platform to strengthen claim scrutiny and support the insurer's anti-fraud processes. The Company indicated that the order does not involve any interest of the promoter or promoter group and that it does not constitute a related party transaction. The contract is to be executed domestically and the notification was filed with the stock exchange as required by listing regulations.

RailTel described the engagement as significant to its services portfolio in digital infrastructure and data analytics and said the solution will be integrated to assist detection and investigation workflows for suspected fraudulent behaviour. The scope covers deployment, support and investigations for health insurance claims and is structured for phased delivery through the stated completion date. Financial consideration was specified in the filing and the Company set out the delivery timeline in the purchase order.

The filing noted that the disclosure has been issued with approval of the executive director and that the notice is computer generated, hence no signature was required. Stakeholders were asked to take the information on record and the Company confirmed it will proceed in line with contractual and regulatory obligations.
