Reinforcing its focus on rural infrastructure, the Delhi unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) inaugurated a new sports complex worth Rs 140 million at Jharoda Kalan in Najafgarh. The project, constructed under the Gramodaya Yojana by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), includes two badminton courts, a basketball court, and a tracking path around the village sports ground.

The initiative is part of the BJP’s commitment to developing rural areas in the National Capital Region. The project was led by Councillor Amit Kharkhari and aims to provide better facilities to nurture local sports talent.

Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, who presided over the inauguration, was joined by West Delhi MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat, Najafgarh MLA Neelam Pehalwan, and other officials.

Addressing the gathering, Sachdeva stated, “This initiative is a step towards transforming Delhi’s rural belt into a development hub. With Rs 9.6 billion allocated under the Gramodaya scheme by the Lieutenant Governor, villages from Narela-Alipur to Chhatarpur are seeing real progress.”

He added that the BJP’s vision for a developed India starts with empowering rural communities. “Providing world-class facilities to our children is essential,” Sachdeva said.

MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat highlighted the region’s sporting legacy and said the complex would support the growth of future athletes. “This area has always produced sports talent. With this new stadium, our children will have the infrastructure to train and succeed,” she said.
