Servotech Gets Patent For EV Charger Converter Innovation

Servotech Renewable Power System rose 3.31 per cent to Rs 97.81 after the Indian Patent Office granted the company a patent for its innovation titled “System and Method for Charging an Electric Vehicle.”

The patented technology enables GBT-based electric vehicles to charge using CCS2 DC fast chargers. As India’s EV ecosystem transitions rapidly towards the CCS2 standard, a large fleet of older GBT-compatible vehicles still operates across the country. Servotech’s device functions as a smart converter that, when connected to a CCS2 charger, allows GBT vehicles to charge safely and efficiently.

The company said the solution improves charger utilisation and ensures that legacy EV owners are not excluded during the shift to new charging norms. It added that the system has undergone successful trials on GB/T-enabled electric buses and commercial cab fleets. Servotech is exploring wider deployment with fleet operators, public transport agencies and commercial charging hubs.

Servotech Renewable Power System develops technology-led EV charging solutions, offering a wide range of AC and DC chargers compatible with various electric vehicles for both commercial and domestic applications.

On a consolidated basis, the company’s net profit fell 88.24 per cent to Rs 13.3 million, while net sales declined 46.67 per cent to Rs 1.0649 billion in Q2 September 2025 compared with the same quarter in 2024.
