TARIL Bags DVC Order for 500 MVA and 200 MVA Auto Transformers

Transformers and Rectifiers, India (TARIL), a manufacturer of transformers and reactors, has received an order from Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) for the manufacture and supply of 500 megavolt-amperes (MVA) and 200 MVA auto transformers and related work. The order is classified as a large order under the company’s project classification.

The contract is scheduled to be executed within 15 to 28 months. The announcement did not disclose the order’s value or identify specific project locations. It places the supply within DVC’s power infrastructure activities and adds high-capacity transformation equipment to TARIL’s ongoing engagement with India’s critical power infrastructure.

Satyen Mamtora, Managing Director and CEO of Transformers and Rectifiers, said the power sector was entering a phase in which strengthening the grid would be as important as expanding generation capacity. He said this would require dependable, high-capacity equipment, stronger domestic manufacturing capabilities and greater resilience across the power value chain.

Mamtora said orders of this nature highlighted the importance of developing these capabilities within India. He added that, as the country progressed towards the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, Indian manufacturers would have an opportunity to contribute to more robust and self-reliant power infrastructure.

The company said the order reflected its capabilities in manufacturing high-capacity transformers and further strengthened its participation in India’s power infrastructure. TARIL said it remained focused on enhancing its manufacturing, technology and engineering capabilities to address the evolving requirements of the power sector and support the country’s expanding generation and transmission infrastructure. The order covers both transformer ratings along with associated work, with completion planned within the stated execution period.

We aim to become the single source of truth for project information

Every construction project depends on one critical element: the right drawing reaching the right person at the right time. But fragmented workflows often create costly delays. Rikunj Moradia, Founder, SyncDrawings, explains how digital drawing management can transform project execution. What gap in the construction ecosystem led to the creation of SyncDrawings?I come from a construction background and also run a BIM services firm. During our work, one recurring challenge was drawing accessibility. Construction is completely dependent on drawings, but the way they are managed remains fragmented ..
