Tembo Global subsidiary signs NDA with defence PSU for collaboration talks

Tembo Global Industries Limited has announced that its subsidiary, Tembo Classic Engineering Private Limited (formerly Tembo Defence Products Private Limited), has signed a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) with a leading defence production Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) in India.

The company said the NDA is a strategic step towards exploring collaboration opportunities in the indigenous design, development and manufacturing of engineering products for defence applications, aligned with the evolving requirements of the Government of India.

Tembo Global stated that the development reflects the group’s focus on strengthening its presence in the defence and engineering sectors, while supporting the Government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative aimed at promoting self-reliance in defence manufacturing.

The company clarified that the agreement is exploratory and intended to facilitate technical discussions, evaluations and information exchange between the two parties. It does not represent a binding agreement for any commercial transaction or partnership, and there is no assurance that the engagement will lead to a definitive business arrangement.

Sanjay J. Patel, Managing Director of Tembo Global Industries Limited, said: “We are pleased to initiate discussions with a reputed defence PSU through this Non-Disclosure Agreement. This step aligns with our long-term vision to contribute to India’s indigenisation efforts in the defence sector. While the engagement is currently exploratory, we believe it opens avenues to evaluate meaningful opportunities in engineering led defence solutions. We remain committed to leveraging our capabilities to support the Government of India’s focus on self-reliance and advanced manufacturing.”

Incorporated in 2010, Tembo Global Industries operates in the industrial manufacturing sector, producing and assembling metal components for pipe support systems, fasteners, anchors, HVAC and anti-vibration systems. The company is also involved in fabrication and installation of ductile pipes, HDPE pipes and fittings, and MS plate. Its products are certified by Underwriter’s Laboratory Inc. (USA) and FM Approval (USA) for fire sprinkler system installations.

Tembo entered the EPC contracting segment in 2023 and has secured orders from infrastructure clients. The company has also diversified into defence manufacturing and solar power in 2024, along with interests in textile trading.
