UP Plans Airport, Rail Link For Bundelkhand Growth

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the swift development of key infrastructure projects within the Bundelkhand Industrial Development Authority (BIDA) region to accelerate industrialisation and improve connectivity.

During a high-level review meeting, Adityanath announced plans for a new airport, railway station, and multimodal logistics park to strengthen the region’s transport and trade infrastructure. He also emphasised the extension of the Agra–Gwalior Greenfield Expressway to BIDA and Jhansi, along with the creation of a Delhi–Nagpur Industrial Corridor node to integrate Bundelkhand into the national industrial network.

The Chief Minister called for the expedited construction of a link expressway to BIDA and the fourth Delhi–Chennai railway line, as well as improvements to internal infrastructure, including roads, sewage systems, and power distribution networks.

Adityanath commended the transparent land acquisition process adopted by BIDA and its digital governance initiatives, which have strengthened investor confidence. He reaffirmed the government’s vision to transform Bundelkhand into a model hub for industrial growth, logistics, and employment generation.

These measures form part of the state’s broader plan to position Bundelkhand as a key economic corridor, ensuring balanced regional development and long-term sustainability.
