Egis appoints Vipul Surana as India CEO

Egis has appointed Vipul Surana as Chief Executive Officer for its India business with immediate effect, as the global engineering and consulting firm strengthens its presence in one of its key growth markets.

Surana succeeds to lead Egis's operations across India, where the company has been active for more than three decades, delivering projects in urban development, water, roads, rail, airports and buildings. He will oversee business growth, client relationships and project delivery while expanding the company's engineering, project management and advisory capabilities.

A Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers (UK), Surana has more than 30 years of experience in infrastructure delivery across India, the UK, Europe, South Korea, Malaysia and the Middle East. His experience spans highways, bridges, metros, ports and urban infrastructure.

Frederico Justus, Chief Executive Officer, Egis Middle East & South Asia, said India has become a significant contributor to the group's global growth, with nearly 3,000 employees working on infrastructure programmes across the country.

Commenting on his appointment, Surana said India's infrastructure investment is expected to reach USD 1.7 trillion by 2030, creating opportunities to strengthen the business while accelerating its digital and low-carbon capabilities.

Egis said the appointment aligns with its strategy to become one of the world's top 10 construction engineering firms, with India playing a central role in its long-term growth plans.

Uttar Pradesh Accelerates National Highway Projects

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari to review National Highway and road infrastructure projects. The National Highways Authority of India has rectified 33 of 40 deficient locations along an 11km stretch of the Delhi–Gurugram NH-48 corridor, following a joint inspection by the authority, the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram and the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority. Mankhurd Maharashtra Nagar Flyover To Open By August 2027

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has said the Mankhurd-Maharashtra Nagar flyover will be operational by August 2027, as part of measures to ease congestion in the eastern suburbs.
