Platinum Award for Essar Steel

Global steel producer, Essar Steel recently received the ‘Platinum Award’ under the category of ‘Supplier Quality Excellence Programme’ (SQEP) by Caterpillar. While the company has been supplying steel plates for Catepillar since 2001, the SQEP certification recognises its performance as a strategic supplier of steel plates globally to Caterpillar. Also, the award validates Essar Steel’s usage of Six Sigma methodologies for continuous and sustainable improvements through the initiatives of Essar Manufacturing Excellence.Earlier, this year, Essar Steel also won the Gold Award, in the large scale category, at the FICCI Quality System Excellence Awards 2011, organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
