RINL to take up capacity expansion worth Rs 12,000 cr

Rashtriya Ispat Nigam (RINL) will double its capacity to 6.3 tpa of liquid steel at an outlay of Rs 12,000 crore. It is also looking forward to launch the next phase of expansion to 11 mtpa. This includes high-grade flat production and cold-rolled green oriented (CRGO) steel, which is currently imported. The entire expansion will be taken up in phases. Under phase-I, new blast furnace, converters, billet casters and wire-rod mill will be commissioned in the current fiscal.
