AAI to clear Kolkata Airport drainage
The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has finalised the plan to modernise the drainage system within the Kolkata Airport. Of the total project cost of Rs 30 crore, Rs 7 crore will go into setting up of a new drain on the southern side of the airport.
The Kolkata Airport suffers from congestion of the 34-km - long drainage system within the operational area. The resulting water-logging at the airport causes submerging of equipment during monsoons.
