State gives 370 acres to AAI to develop Belgaum Airport

The government of Karnataka has acquired 370 acres of land for the development of Belgaum airport and handed over the same to Airports Authority of India(AAI), said the Union Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation KC Venugopal said in the Rajya Sabha on August 27.

The land will be used for development of runway extension, basic strip, construction of a new apron with taxiway, new passenger and cargo terminal and other infrastructure facilities, he added.

Belgaum airport is a civil airport belonging to AAI.
