The government after failing to get private players to build the Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE) during the past six years, is now set to fund the project by itself. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways will soon move a proposal on the public funding of EPE for government approval. The 135-km expressway project connecting Palwal (NH-2), Ghaziabad (NH-24) and Kundli (NH-1) would cost the government about Rs 4,500 crore.
