How the highway works project pipeline looks: Infographics

The Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari recently mentioned that National highway works worth Rs 163,302 crore were sanctioned for expansion and widening, entrusted to state public works departments (PWD) from 2015-16 to 2019-20.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has sanctioned 2,115 works including 62 highway works from 2015-16 to 2019-20. There are 77 total projects in the pipeline for Q4 FY2021 with a capital cost of Rs 71,891 crore. Here’s an infographic showing these allocations:

A data by Yes Securities shows that 55 % of the highway projects currently in the tendering pipeline will be awarded on HAM basis while 35 % will be awarded on EPC mode. The data given below show this division:
