Maharashtra Approves 134-km Four-Lane Highway Project

The Maharashtra Government has approved a 134-km-long four-lane highway project connecting Nerul, Bandra, Pait, Shiroli, Pabala, Malthan and Shirur, according to an update shared by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar on her official X (formerly Twitter) handle.
The proposed corridor is expected to provide improved connectivity between Mumbai, Pune, Marathwada and Ahilyanagar, while reducing traffic congestion on the Pune–Shirur route.
As per the update, the highway will create a direct link with Mumbai and Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA), and is expected to support economic, industrial and transportation development across Raigad, Pune, Marathwada and Ahilyanagar regions.
The project is also expected to benefit industrial areas including Khed SEZ, Talegaon, Chakan, Ranjangaon and Supa, while supporting development in Khed, Shirur, Ambegaon and Maval.
The post added that the project is expected to create opportunities for industry, employment and investment.
