NHAI Seeks DPR for Remaining UER-I Stretches and Gurugram Link

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has invited bids from technical consultancy firms to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) for the remaining stretches of Urban Extension Road-I (UER-I), including a proposed link to Gurugram’s 75 m road and the Upper Dwarka Expressway.

The assignment covers an indicative length of 50 km, including around 5 km connecting UER-I with Gurugram’s 75 m road. UER-I will connect the Chandigarh highway, Rohtak Road, Urban Extension Road-II, Bahadurgarh and the Sonipat spur before joining NH-8 at Kapashera.

The proposed link is intended to provide commuters with an alternative route to Delhi’s western and northern outskirts while improving connectivity with the wider Dwarka Expressway corridor. The DPR consultancy will include feasibility studies, engineering investigations, designs, cost estimates and construction-related project documents, with NHAI serving as the employer and executing agency.

The scope also covers the assessment of rehabilitation, upgrading and improvement requirements for existing roads, along with the construction of new stretches where necessary. The feasibility assessment will establish the preferred implementation method for the civil works.

Where railway level crossings fall within the project stretches, the consultant will coordinate with firms working on railway overbridges and railway underbridges. It will finalise road alignments and structure configurations and prepare DPRs for crossings not covered by other assignments. The consultancy is scheduled for completion within seven months of commencement.

NHAI published the tender on 30 October 2026. Proposals must be submitted by 19 November, while technical bids are scheduled to open on 20 November. A pre-proposal conference will be held on 12 November at NHAI headquarters in New Delhi.
