An engineering planning error on the Mumbai Metro Line 7A could require demolition and reconstruction of almost one kilometre of an elevated viaduct in Vile Parle East after the height of overhead electric wires exceeded the clearance permitted by the Airports Authority of India in the airport funnel zone. Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (UPMRC) has awarded Johnson Lifts Pvt. Ltd. a Rs896.1 million (mn) contract after the company emerged as the sole bidder to supply and commission heavy-duty elevators and escalators for the Lucknow, Kanpur and Agra Metro projects. The award covers supply of equipment, installation and commissioning across station locations designated by the client.
