The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has issued detailed standard operating procedures (SOPs) to record and digitise the sanction process for all road projects with effect from 1 April 2024. In a notification, it said that the move is aimed at ensuring paperless, informative, transparent and accountable sanction process and has to be mandatorily followed for works being executed through the National Highways Authority of India. As per the notification, besides NHAI other stakeholders involved in construction of roads and highways will also be mandated to sanction projects based on the SOPs.Contact: MoRTHWebsite: www.morth.nic.in

Road Ministry hopes to construct over 12,000 km of roads in FY24

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways expects to construct anywhere between 12,000 and 13,000 km of national highways in 2023-24, which will be the second highest national highways construction in the country.
