Work of doubling line between Mahabubnagar-Divitipalli completed

The double line project of 10.45 km was commissioned for the enhancement of the rail connectivity between Mahabubnagar and Divitipalli in Hyderabad and other major cities in the southern regions.

The execution of the project is being done by the Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), Railway public sector undertaking (PSU).

As per South Central Railway (SCR), the Secunderabad-Mahabubnagar doubling as well as electrification project is among the very crucial projects for adding more strength to the railway operations in the Telangana state.

This double-line railway project had been sanctioned for a total length of 85 km for an approximate value of Rs 774 crore. As a part of the Multi-Modal Transport System (MMTS) Phase I and Phase II the distance from Secunderabad to Umdanagar at a length of 28 km has already been executed.

A major part of this railway project has been done with the completion of the stretch between Mahabubnagar and Divitipalli of 10.45 km, excluding the minor part between Divitipalli and Gollapalli.The construction work in the balance section and the electrification process is also approaching completion.

South Central Railway (SCR), General Manager, Sanjeev Kishore has instructed the responsible officials to complete the rest of the project as soon as possible in the current fiscal year.
