Railway Board and Jharkhand fast track six delayed projects

The Railway Board and Jharkhand state has targeted to finish six key ongoing railway projects by 2017. The projects stretching across 589 km has seen cost escalation by 61 per cent due to delay in execution, amounting to Rs 3,771 crore at present. These fast-tracked projects include the Ranchi-Lohardaga (extended upto Tori), Ranchi-Barkakana-Hazaribag-Koderma, Koderma-Tilaiya, Koderma-Giridih, Deoghar-Dumka and Dumka-Rampurhat rail tracks.
