AP Checking Drives Earn Rs 85.9 Mn for Vijayawada Railway Division

The Vijayawada Division of South Central Railway (SCR) has earned Rs 85.9 million through intensive ticket-checking drives conducted over the past few weeks. The enforcement checks were carried out across major stations and trains to curb unauthorised travel and ensure better compliance with passenger regulations.

Officials said the drives formed part of a broader initiative to enhance passenger safety, improve travel discipline and strengthen revenue protection. Special teams of ticket examiners were deployed at key locations, with additional squads conducting surprise checks on long-distance and intercity trains.

The division also reported that the enforcement campaigns helped reduce instances of irregular and unbooked travel, contributing significantly to the revenue collected. Senior officials reaffirmed that such checks would continue across Andhra Pradesh to ensure a more secure and efficient travel experience for passengers.
