Capacit'e Infraprojects Wins Rs. 3.69 bn Chennai Metro Order

Shares of Capacit'e Infraprojects rose nearly 5 per cent on Tuesday after the company received a Letter of Acceptance worth approximately Rs. 3.69 bn, excluding goods and services tax, from Chennai Metro Rail. The company disclosed the order in a filing with the stock exchanges.

The contract covers the construction of buildings near Thirumangalam Metro Station along the viaduct on open land parcels. Its scope includes civil works, architectural finishes, plumbing, electrical and mechanical works, ventilation and air-conditioning, lifts and other associated activities.

The company said the order was received in the normal course of business and forms part of its ordinary civil contracting operations. Managing Director Rahul Katyal said the project would strengthen the company’s presence in the public sector and support its participation in urban transport development, without providing any additional financial details.

Capacit'e Infraprojects had also secured an order worth approximately Rs. 7.41 bn, excluding goods and services tax, from Mahindra Lifespace Developers in August. That contract covered core and shell construction work for the Mahindra Rainforest project at Kanjurmarg and the Mahindra Beacon Hill project at Mahalaxmi.

The stock rose as much as 4.7 per cent to an intraday high of Rs. 186.97 after the order announcement. It later pared some gains and traded at Rs. 183.48 at 1.54 pm, up 2.7 per cent. The shares have advanced more than 28 per cent so far in 2026 and 35 per cent over the past year, according to market data.
